Can a mystery fic be told in 2k? No, no it can't. A batpony guard wakes up with amnesia and starts wandering the Castle of the Pony Sisters with vague memories of NMM. Pretty interesting opening, but that's the entire story. She proceeds to wander around for several days, naval gazing about her loneliness and not trying to figure out what the hell's going on before she finds a phoenix who isn't Philomena (Why has she been totally forgotten in both canon and fanfics, anyway?). And that's the whole story. I'd be more mad but thank God it's only 2k and the opportunity cost was so low.
What the hell was the point of any of that story? It's like it begins to catch your interest, has decent prose, uses some words you may have to look up to know the meaning of, mostly related to "tempo/rhythm" synonyms, but then it just... ends, or something.
I think I was inattentive enough to not notice the main character was female, it was so meaningless.

For "fanfics," she only appeared in one episode in Season 1, maybe some official comics. That's about it. No idea why the show never remembered her existence.
