Princess Celestia Hunts the Undead is a 91k silly action EqG SoL where it's explained why Principal Celestia and Vice-Principal Luna weren't all that fazed by the events of the movies: the faculty hunts supernatural threats on their downtime.
I came in with zero expectations, and came out pleasantly surprised. The best way I can describe this story is a small scale X-Files, where every week they have to deal with a different threat. Instead of a fringe government agency dealing with the supernatural, though, it's just the principals and teachers of Canterlot High fighting against zombies, vampires, and lichs. And Sunset Shimmer wants in.
This story has heart. I think that's the best thing I can say about it. Be it Cranky or Harshwhinny being grumpy, Iron Will spouting one-liners, or Cheerilee venting some stress in her unique way, everyone has charm and their moment to shine. The ones who get the most screentime, however, are Celestia, Sunset Shimmer, and Luna.
Do you like Momlestia? I do now. It was nice seeing them grow closer. Maybe their bonding happened a tad too fast, but their dynamic is so fun and comfy, I bought it anyway.
Overall, I recommend this if you want to see a fun monster-of-the-week story filled with comfy character moments, neat little tidbits of world building, and a mother-daughter journey.
