This also applies to the next story, but I really like how the description of Celestia staring into the Sun almost reaches out into melancholy. The fic conveys this very clear notion of how powerful, distant, and unponylike the Sun is and how Celestia – being a pony – feels when she's contemplating it. She's not quite like other ponies, and by staring into the Sun she sees a reflection of herself, or at least a certain perspective from which she can see herself.
